77157 Griffon

This was included in the Vampire set.  I've threatened to paint the boys metal one from his dwarf warlord army but he always said he was going to do it.  So finally I'm going to paint these and leave his alone.  I ended up with two of them so twice as much fun.

Dwarf Kings Hold Dwarf Shield Breakers

These are the last of my Dwarf Kings hold models to paint.  Glad to finish up this project.  Overall the Mantic line is cheaper than Warhammer but the quality is lower.  I really prefer the Bones line from Reaper as they are low cost but still very high quality.

Dwarf Kings Hold Dwarf Warriors

Starting to work on the Dwarfs for Dwarf Kings Hold game.  First up is the 5 warriors.  these are the rank and file.  My plan is to only change the cloth color between the warriors and shield breakers.  I want to make it easy to tell them apart.

Field Trip to Reaper

On Saturday Reaper held a party to celebrate the end of their Bones Kickstarter.  It managed to raise 3.4 million so that's a lot of little plastic men they have to deliver in March.  Reaper rolled out the red carpet and supplied food, drinks and bones to paint.  I thought about bringing a basic set of painting gear but in the end left it all at home.  This made the paint and take more challenging as I did not have the colors I'm use to using or my normal brushes.  Still it was a fun time and hey the minis were free so no complaints from me.

I have no idea what colors I used but I did a lot of wet mixing, trying to get highlights etc. Once I got home I decided to touch the up and use some washes to pretty them up some.
